Foreign journals removed from OAK’s list in June 2026
In June 2026, OAK announced the removal of several foreign journals from the list recommended for publishing dissertation results. The decision spans disciplines and should not be applied loosely to any title that merely looks similar.
Medical sciences
The official announcement names American Journal of Medicine and Medical Sciences under medical sciences. Other disciplines have separate lists and journal-name corrections. Check your own subject area and the current register entry before a new submission.
Earlier articles
OAK expressly says that articles published in removed journals before its 10 June 2026 decision may still be counted as core dissertation results under the established procedure. The statement does not confer the same status on later articles. Keep the issue page, DOI and publication date.
Verification route
Find the exact title and ISSN in the official register, then read the amendment announcement. A publisher’s generic “OAK recognised” claim is no substitute for current evidence.
