OAK warns against unlawful payments for arranging a defence
OAK responded to reports of money being sought on the pretext of preparing a dissertation for defence or passing it through an academic council. The commission rejects demands for material gain for the council’s own administrative functions.
What cannot be charged as a condition
According to OAK, a council should not demand payment from applicants for preparing attestation documents, uploading them or other work needed to operate the council. The institution hosting it provides the necessary working conditions.
Where to report
OAK points to its hotline +998 95 193-11-43, official consultation bot and info@oak.uz. Retain messages, dates, amounts and details of the person making a demand. Reporting does not replace an authority’s assessment of the specific facts.
Distinguish different expenses
The OAK publication concerns demands by a council or its members for their administrative duties. Any lawful expense or fee established by another instrument should be assessed under that instrument; not every monetary question is automatically the same misconduct.
