Patent verification in official registers
Numbers that look alike can refer to an application, a publication or a granted patent. Verification therefore starts by identifying the jurisdiction and number type. IlmiyChek compares the document with the corresponding patent record and does not borrow details from a merely similar invention.
Fields that are compared
The check covers publication number, application number, priority, filing and publication dates, invention title, inventors, applicant and right holder. For an international application, the WO publication, national phase and patent family are kept distinct.
Reading the result correctly
A discovered application does not establish that a patent was granted or remains in force. The report distinguishes a published application, a granted patent, rights shown as lapsed, expired or revoked, and fields the source does not provide. Legal status is taken only from the appropriate official register as observed on the check date.
What remains outside the service
Automated comparison does not replace a novelty search, a patent attorney’s opinion or legal analysis of claim scope. In a dispute, the responsible authority and its official records remain decisive.
